The Greater Greenwood Chamber was awarded a 2019 “Excellence in Communications Awards” from the Indiana Chamber Executives Association (ICEA). The Chamber won the award for its "In the Zone" marketing campaign. The goals of the campaign were to (1) advertise members experiencing business disruption due to road construction, (2) encourage members and residents to do business with these members, and (3) promote the business coaching and microlending available through our in-house partner, Business Ownership Initiative. The marketing campaign included a series of postcards and emails to businesses within the construction zone (“in the zone”) promoting business coaching and microlending as resources to manage the disruption. The campaign also included a series of emails to Chamber members with videos spotlighting the affected members. Chamber Ambassador Committee members and staff visited the affected members to conduct the on-camera interviews. The videos were also posted to the Chamber’s social media. Here’s one such video featuring Jockomo Pizza, hosted by Jane Weisenbach of the Greenwood Public Library. "Member success is paramount to our work. While we support critical infrastructure projects to improve safety and quality of life - because quality of place attracts customers and employees - we remain responsive to the business disruption during construction. We are grateful to our amazing members and volunteers who jumped in to help support businesses in the zone," stated Christian Maslowski, Chamber CEO. Award submissions were evaluated by a committee of out-of-state experienced chamber professionals and private-sector marketing professionals. ICEA maintains a minimum 90% average evaluation score needed to win an award. Only about half of award submissions are awarded. This is the seventh consecutive year the Greater Greenwood Chamber received an Excellence in Communications Award from ICEA. The Indiana Chamber Executives Association is the statewide association focusing on professional development and best practices for staff members leading local chambers of commerce in Indiana. Founded in 1915, ICEA membership is comprised of more than 275 professional staff members representing one hundred local chambers of commerce from around the state. More at www.ICEAonline.com.
